If you just want to check out some different fragrances, we offer six tea lights - you choose the fragrances - and shipping is free! Are these candles soot free? While it's true that ANYTHING that burns will give off some soot, soy candles give off very low amounts of carbon. And we help to lower that amount even further by using two small wicks rather than one large wick. Why do Brushwood Soybean Candles have two wicks? Our Elevation Jars offered in the 10.5 & 17 ounce sizes do have two wicks. There are a few reasons for our decision. First, using two small wicks rather than one large wick, cuts down on the amount of carbon. You will notice our candles burn very clean, the two small wicks help with the clean burn. The next reason is for the consumers cost effectiveness. With two wicks the candle will burn clean down the sides. This way you get to use ALL the candle, not just the part that goes right down the middle...know what I mean? How do these candles help to support the American farmers? We use 100% soy wax in our container candles. The soybeans that are harvested for our wax is grown right here in America. In fact when I was a kid, my dzjadzja "jaja" (grandpa) grew soybeans next to our home. What better way to support the heartbeat of America. Did you know that paraffin candles are derived from petroleum? Most commercially bought candles are paraffin based. How long have you been in business? This is our third year of business. Will you ever carry pillar candles? I've been asked this question countless times. And the answer is yes! We are on the brink of offering pillar candles made of palm wax. The reason it has taken so long is the fact that we have tested several different waxes and have just not been happy with the results for one reason or another. We have finally found a simply wonderful palm wax that is offering beautiful results. Stay tuned we hope to have these ready for you by the end of the summer! Besides lasting so long these candles seem to put off an awesome scent, how do you do that? Our candles are triple scented, really they are. And it also has to do with the type of wax we choose to use. I've been asked before if the "triple scent" is just a gimmick. Nope, they really are triple scented, your gonna be amazed! Will these candles really help my asthma and breathing problems? In a word NO. I wish this were the case. My oldest son has asthma and he has no problems with his asthma when I am either making or burning candles. Here's the thing; Soy candles do not give off the types of carbon/soot that seem to irritate people with breathing issues. I have several customers who have breathing problems.
